The New Olympic cycle - 31.05.2010

It was somewhat symbolic that on my way from to the first training camp of the season in Lake Placid, New York, I had a stop over in Washington D.C. Last month, I missed the USOC Olympic athlete visit to the White House to meet the President because all flights in Europe were grounded after a volcanic eruption so I could not make that trip. My short layover in D.C. symbolized it is time to move on from the last Olympic cycle, and start working on the 2010/2011 World Cup season training. Right away, Coaches Armin Auchentaller and Per Nilson, put me to work with the rest of the National team. Just in the first afternoon we packed in 2 hours of precision shooting drills, a distance rollerski and interval training with technique on the treadmill, and I will head back out again in the afternoon. This is an important season, so the hard training just adds to my motivation.
