Almost every day this season when I was on my way to training in Oberhof, I would pass by the newly built ski hall. I pretended to be patient for the construction to be complete, and now finally it is. Right as the doors opened to the public, I was skiing back and forth. For some reason I really enjoy skiing in ski tunnels, such as the one in Vuokatti, Finland, and Torsby, Sweden. The Oberhof tunnel has the advantage that the snow stays hard packed for longer, it has a high roof so it is not so Closter phobic, and it even has windows, and it was a great feeling to be doing on snow training while watching it rain outside. Oberhof already was an impressive training facility, but with the ski tunnel it is absolutely ideal for training, especially my Olympic preparation.
