Daily helpers - 28.07.2009

There are not too many American Olympians training in Germany full time like myself. Therefore, it has been very important to me to have of group of people support me in Germany so I can accomplish top level results. Although I do most of my training on my own, it is good for me to work with other coaches and athletes to help move myself forward. Starting last season I began working with the staff and coaches of the local winter sport club WSV Oberhof. I do most of my shooting workouts with the club along with some of my tough workouts where I need some other athletes around to push me. This has been very beneficial to my shooting performance.
One of the big improvements to my training this season is the additional assistance of a physiologist, Steffen Danneberg. Steffen studies sport science at the University in Jena and is about to write his diploma thesis about Lactate Performance Diagnostics. He also plays soccer in one of the best teams that Thüringen has.
SV Rudisleben.
Steffen is there whenever I need his help. He takes times, lactates, and designs my strength program. He has helped me work on several weaknesses in strength and stabilization which I had not paid enough attention to in the past. His specialty in rehabilitation and soccer has given me some new perspectives on how to improve my training.
With the daily help of my support staff in Oberhof, I feel I am well on track for the results I expect to get this season.
Thanks a lot to everybody who helps with my training!
